6000 Queenslanders start a plan

In early September 2012, Harden Up - Protecting Queensland reached a double milestone. Statistics on the involvement map show that over 6,000 people have started a plan. This includes plans unniquely tailored for bushfire, flood, storm and cyclone. The majority of the plans are for houses, with the remainder being townhouses and apartments.

In addition to the 6,000 plans started, Queenslanders have logged over 14,000 actions. These actions include simple, but effective steps that make our homes, families and communities more resilient during extreme weather events.

Some of the most popular actions have been:

  • Checking to make sure you have adequate insurance
  • Cleaning your home's gutters and downpiptes
  • Preparing an emergency kit
  • Taking a first aid course or updating your certifications

It's great to see Queenslanders being proactive about protecting their homes, families and communities.
