Happy New Year
Happy New Year

Welcome to the first Harden Up – Protecting Queensland enewsletter for the year.

Harden Up – Protecting Queensland is a Green Cross Australia project. We help people adapt to our changing climate and Harden Up – Protecting Queensland is all about preparing our communities for severe weather events. During an event such as high winds, rising floodwaters or damaged roads it is possible that emergency services may not be able to reach you. If you were isolated right now and essential services were disrupted, would you be prepared?

January is a good time to think about the year ahead and get everything in order. Reviewing and completing your Harden Up plan will give you the peace of mind to enjoy 2012 knowing you, your family, property and community are ready for severe weather.

Top Tip

Make sure your pets are vaccinated before storm season. Because animal shelters wont take them in, unless their vaccinations are up to date.
