Isolated severe thunderstorms developed over the Wide Bay and Burnett, Darling Downs and Granite Belt, and the Southeast Coast during the afternoon. Significant hail was reported at Tiaro, where a 1km swath of hail was observed between Tiaro and 5km to the north, however the hail was mostly pea sized. Pea sized to marble sized hail was reported at Mt Alford to the west of Boonah, with good ground covering. Entire roads were covered with hail and occasional hail stones up to 2 cm in diameter were reported at Veresdale. Hail up to 3 cm in diameter was reported in the Jimboomba area.
