A tornado was sighted near Glenmorgan in the western Darling Downs. The tornado was estimated to be 10-20 kilometres away and lasted 5-7 minutes. Thunderstorms also produced intense rainfall in Pittsworth, and in the Darling Downs, where 85mm was recorded. Falls of this intensity have an annual recurrence interval of more than 1 in 100 years. Heavy rainfall and flash flooding also occurred on the Gold Coast during the evening. Elsewhere in the state, the Julia Creek community centre was partially unroofed after a wind gust reached 95 km/h
