On the 12th severe thunderstorms developed near Lowood, the New South Wales border and Dalby and moved towards the coast. Some of the regions affected by these storms included; Killarney, Lake Manchester, Wacol, Ipswich, Logan City, Esk, Upper Brookfield, Brisbane CBD, Beenleigh, Redbank Plains, Sunnybank Hills, Manly, Caloundra, the area southwest of Caloundra, North Stradbroke Island, Killarney, Mount Barney, the area southwest of Dalby, Bowenville, Kilcoy, the area west of Kilcoy, the ranges between Gympie and Murgon, Moore, Linville, Goomeri, Kilkivan, Kenilworth and Yandina.  Reports of hail and wind damage from these storms included: 5−10 mm deep hail at Paddington at about 6:30 pm; pea-sized hail in Kelvin Grove, strong wind and tree damage at Mt Gravatt at about 4 pm; hail up to 2 cm at Toowong before 7 pm and strong winds and tree damage at Caboolture during the evening.
