On the 4th a low pressure system moved inland over the Gold Coast bringing widespread heavy rainfall with embedded thunderstorms. Flooding occurred over much of the Gold Coast hinterland and filled the Hinze Dam to one hundred per cent capacity. Falls included: O'Reilly's 134mm, Darlington 121mm, Beechmont 101mm, Binna Burra 109mm, Lower Springbrook 106mm, Tallebudgera Creek Dam 107mm, Tomewin 122mm and Foxley 104mm.
