Widespread heavy rainfall on 3rd April following ex tropical cyclone Tessi, caused rapid river rises throughout the Haughton River catchment. Minor to moderate flooding occurred in the upstream reaches, with river levels downstream at Giru reaching 2.85 metres on 4th April causing major flooding.
