A low developed 100 km east of Cape Moreton and then moved slowly out to sea. Gales affected the Gold and Sunshine Coasts and the N Coast of NSW. Large swells hit the Gold Coast and N NSW. Brisbane wave recording station recorded significant wave heights to 4.62m on 15 Sept.

This event is classified as an East Coast Low.
