Extensive sugar cane damage Cairns to Home Hill. 16 homes damaged at Darling Heights (Toowoomba). Two small yachts wrecked. Local flooding Rockhampton to Proserpine. Two boys drowned at Rockhampton and one near fatality at Proserpine when motor vehicles were washed off creek crossings. The Brisbane wave recording station recorded significant (peak) wave heights of 3.8m (5.2m) on 22 May. This event is classified as an East Coast Low.
