Houses, hotel and sheds unroofed, windows broken, shops flooded, hail buried poultry. Trees down, wires down, gardens wrecked, flying iron and timber smashed tank. One farmer lost all his crops and 11 cattle (several frozen to death). Store and draper had 1000 pounds damage, another 400 pounds damage. Hail had to be shoveled off roofs. Hundreds of pounds damage to pumpkin and maize crops. Cattle stood freezing which covered their legs. Pits and poultry suffered severely. Orchard trees and grapevines stripped. Hoods blown off cars.
